Self-Improvement
Hell, Hello
When I was thinking of topics to write about I thought to myself what's something I would actually
want to read about, what's something that could actually benefit me. I realized that self improvement
is something that would benefit me and could benefit others. I know when I hear "self improvement"
I automatically think physical such as exercise and eating healthy but these tips are not only about
physical improvement but mental and emotional as well. Here are a few tips that I found to be
interesting, realistic, and helpful:
1. Reading a book everyday - I personally don't have the time to read a book a day. I'd suggest a book
a week or a book a month depending on your schedule. A book a week/month is feasible because
time that is generally spent on social media and watching television can be out to goos use and a book
can be read.
2. Stepping your game up - There is always some skill you have that you can improve. For instance
skills that I need to step up are my creativity, challenging myself to think outside the box. Stepping
up my writing skills, working on my voice and making sure to get my point across without any
confusion.
3. Waking up early - Let me be the first to say I was most definitely shaking my head at this one. I am
not a morning person at all. I mean i'm not a grouch in the morning .... But I'm a Grouch in the
morning. It's like the logic behind the early bird gets the worm. There could no longer be an excuse
for "I don't have time". Naturally i'm an night owl mixed with a dash of narcoleptic old person so this
one may be a little tough. Of course there are ways to calm the mind and body to sleep such as;
aroma therapy, soaking in a tub of bubbles (bubble bath), and meditation.
4. Exercise, Exercise, Exercise - Being a better you of course includes your physical self. Exercising
at least 2-3 times a week whether it's running for 30 minutes, even doing yoga, or pilates (which is a
great way to tone and sculpt).
5. Staying on top of priorities and goals - This sounds super old school but making a to-do list to help
keep everything organized. Organization is the best way to keep everything together. Another great
way is to use Sticky Notes !! I love this because you can put goals, aspirations, and motivational
quotes almost anywhere with a sticky note. Lastly vocalizing your goals and priorities to others so
that there is also someone to hold you accountable.
